Technical Dev & Support: Interim Team Manager
The UK Board had decided to trial the outsourcing of operations to India. The permanent manager assigned to set up the associated technical development and support function resigned without notice, leaving the fledgling team demoralised and without direction.
Assigned to complete the set up of the team of 8 and deliver services in support of a pilot operation that was being watched closely by many different interest groups including financial market analysts and staff unions.
Focussed initially on building a team identity along with operational and development objectives. Identified key functions and personnel required for the team’s successful operation, across the company’s business and technical infrastructure and with the outsourcing provider in Pune.
Established methods, staff training plans, budgets and Key Performance Indicators. Planned and managed own succession by permanent staff management.
